This easy derby pie recipe is so good it has us chomping at the bit.

Ingredients

½ Cup All-Purpose Flour

1 Cup Granulated Sugar

2 Large Eggs

½ Cup Melted Butter

2 Tbsp Kentucky Bourbon

1 Cup Chopped Walnuts

1 ¼ Cups Semisweet Chocolate Chips

1 Tsp Vanilla Extract

1 Pinch Salt

1 Ready-Made Pie Crust

Directions

1. Preheat

Preheat your oven to 350° F

2. Mix

Combine your dry ingredients – flour and sugar – in a bowl.  Next, add eggs and melted butter and stir until combined. Then, add in the bourbon, walnuts, chocolate chips, vanilla, and salt. And mix until everything is well incorporated.

3. Pour

Line a pan or skillet with your pie crust, and then pour the filling mixture into the unbaked pie crust.

4. Bake

Bake the pie at 350° F for 40 - 45 minutes or until the filing has set. Then, remove from the oven and cool on a baking rack before slicing in and indulging your sweet tooth!

Notes

1. Room Temp Butter

Ensure your melted butter is cooled slightly to prevent cooking the eggs when mixing.

2. Flavor Boost

Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the filling for an extra layer of warmth and spice.

3. Top it Off

Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.
