Summary

Don’t toss those citrus peels—turn them into a powerful all-purpose cleaner! All you need is white vinegar, leftover peels, and a little patience. In just a couple weeks, you’ll have a fresh-smelling, grease-fighting spray that’s tough on messes and kind to your home.

Ingredients

Leftover citrus peels (orange, lemon, grapefruit—anything goes)

White vinegar

A jar with a lid

A spray bottle for storing

Directions

1. Fill the Jar

Add citrus peels to a clean jar, filling it about halfway.

2. Add Vinegar

Pour in white vinegar until the jar is full and the peels are completely covered.

3. Let It Infuse

Seal the jar and let it sit for at least 2 weeks. The longer it sits, the more the citrus oils will infuse into the vinegar, boosting its cleaning power, and scent!

4. Strain & Store

Strain the infused vinegar into a clean spray bottle, and toss the used peels in your compost.

5. Use It!

Spray on countertops, sinks, stovetops—anywhere you’d use an all-purpose cleaner.

Notes

1. Date It

Label the bottle with the date you made it and what peels you used. Then, store in a cool, dark place for best shelf life.

2. Careful On Stone

Use caution on stone surfaces like granite or marble—vinegar can cause etching.

3. Give it a Little Extra

Add a few drops of essential oil (like tea tree or lemon) for an extra fresh boost.
