This Turmeric Chai Latte is the perfect blend of spices and warmth—just what we need to chase away the chill on a crisp fall day.
1. Spice It Up
Fill a saucepan with water and add the cinnamon sticks, star anise, ginger, cardamom pods, cloves, black peppercorns, nutmeg, turmeric, and maple syrup. Stir to combine, then bring everything to a boil. Reduce the heat, and let the spices simmer for 10 minutes.
2. Tea Time
Remove the saucepan from heat and drop in the black tea bags. Let them steep in the spiced water for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like it. Remove the tea bags when you're happy with the flavor.
3. Strain
Remove the cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cardamom pods, and strain the tea into your favorite mug.
4. Warm the Milk
Using the same sauce pan, pour in your milk and continue heating the mixture on medium heat until it's warm but not boiling.
5. Froth & Garnish
Froth the milk before adding it to the tea mug for a café-style finish. Sprinkle with a little extra cinnamon, and garnish with star anise.
