Summary

This Turmeric Chai Latte is the perfect blend of spices and warmth—just what we need to chase away the chill on a crisp fall day.

Ingredients

1 Cup Water

2 Cinnamon Sticks

2 Star Anise

2 Tbsp Maple Syrup

1 Tbsp Fresh Ginger (Coarsely Chopped)

2 Tsp Nutmeg

2 Cardamom Pods

2 Tsp Turmeric

¼ Tsp Whole Cloves

Tsp Black Peppercorns

2 Black Tea Bags

2 Cups Milk Of Your Choice

Directions

1. Spice It Up

Fill a saucepan with water and add the cinnamon sticks, star anise, ginger, cardamom pods, cloves, black peppercorns, nutmeg, turmeric, and maple syrup. Stir to combine, then bring everything to a boil. Reduce the heat, and let the spices simmer for 10 minutes.

2. Tea Time

Remove the saucepan from heat and drop in the black tea bags. Let them steep in the spiced water for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like it. Remove the tea bags when you're happy with the flavor.

3. Strain

Remove the cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cardamom pods, and strain the tea into your favorite mug.

4. Warm the Milk

Using the same sauce pan, pour in your milk and continue heating the mixture on medium heat until it's warm but not boiling.

5. Froth & Garnish

Froth the milk before adding it to the tea mug for a café-style finish. Sprinkle with a little extra cinnamon, and garnish with star anise.

Notes

1. Add a Little Spice

Want more kick? Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a slice of fresh chili for a spicy twist!

2. Enjoy Over Ice

If you’re craving something cool, let the mixture cool down and serve it over ice for a refreshing iced turmeric chai latte.

3. Add Vanilla

A splash of vanilla extract at the end adds a warm, sweet depth of flavor.
