Ingredients

2 Eggs

Cup Milk

8 Slices Bread (Whole Wheat, Sprouted Grain, or Your Favorite)

1 Tsp Vanilla Extract

1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon

Directions

1. Make the Batter

In a large, shallow bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla.

2. Soak the Bread

Place a slice (or two) of bread into the egg mixture, letting it soak for a few seconds. Flip to coat the other side. If the mixture runs low, add 2 tbsp more milk as needed.

3. Cook Until Golden

Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Spray with cooking oil or melt a small amount of butter or coconut oil.

Add the soaked bread and cook for 2–4 minutes per side, until golden brown.

4. Serve & Enjoy

Top with maple syrup, fresh fruit, powdered sugar, or nut butter, and dig in!

Notes

1. Save Some for Later

Freeze any leftovers, and toast them straight from the freezer for a quick breakfast!

2. Use Stake Bread

Day-old bread soaks up the batter without getting too soggy.

3. Watch for Sogginess

Let the bread soak, but don’t overdo it—too long, and it can get soggy.
